Tubing/Snowboarding Trip

Last week, Shaun's Mom drove up with our nieces and nephews to spend three days with us. The first day, we went to Gorgoza Park and went tubing for four hours. Shaun and I took turns watching Jacob while the other went on the runs with everyone. It was snowing and 25 degrees out, but the kids had a fun time.

The next day, while Susan watched Jacob for us, Shaun and I drove up to Brighton resort with the kids and we rented gear and went snowboarding. I went skiing instead though because I really didn't feel like falling all day long. The weather was ok and it snowed all morning, but then was cleared up by the end of the day. The kids did ok the first day. Everyone was having a little trouble with the gear they brought to wear and getting the hang of the board again, but overall, it was a fun day.

That night, all of us drove to Thanksgiving Point Electric Nights and went through their light display. It wasn't as exciting as we hoped, but we had a good time.

Then, on Wednesday, Susan agreed to watch Jacob for us for a second day and we went back up to Brighton and everyone got their gear and we got better lift tickets and were able to take all the kids to the top of the mountain. They were doing really well the second day and we were able to go down some of the intermediate runs. The weather wasn't as great though. It snowed and snowed and snowed even harder. By the time it was 4 o'clock and time for us to leave, the wind coming down the mountain at you when you got off the ski lift was so strong it could almost blow you over. It was really cold that day and wet too.

We had a great time with the kids and Jacob was able to spend lots of time with his cousins. We are hoping to be able to do that with the kids every year.
