Trip to NY

We arrived in NY at about 1 am on 12/2. We tried to sleep with the time change, it was hard to get our sleep back on track. We spent the first day with my parents and sister visiting a home owned by a very nice couple who are close friends with my parents. They own the Horton House, built in 1752. It was cool to see the whole place and we had a delicious breakfast with coffee and muffins. Shaun even got to shoot a musket while we were there. =)On Friday, Shaun and I had plans to meet up with Frank, a work-friend of Shaun's to go see the broadway show "Promises, Promises" in NYC that night. My mom watched Jacob for us and she said they had the best time playing and hanging out together.

On Saturday, the company that my Dad flies helicopters for had some openings to take us to the city so we were able to catch a flight at about 11 am. Then while we were getting ready to board a flight to return home opened up at about 3pm so we thought we'd go to the city, get ourselves to Rockefeller Center to see the tree, and then eat lunch and head back, so that's what we did. It was Shaun, my Mom, Jacob and I who went and we all had a great time. It was pretty cold in the city, so we had Jacob in his stroller with a weather cover on it, and he was so comfy that he fell asleep on us!

Jacob got a Cars mobile, two recorded books read by my mom and dad and a book and two stuffed animals. We think he had more fun with the boxes and wrapping than with the actual toys though.

We left for home on Tuesday morning. It was a great trip and we will miss the family. Let's hope it's not another 10 months before we see them again. =) Jacob was great on the flights home too. He was able to be in his car seat for both flights and he actually slept through the first flight. He did really well.

He's such a good traveler.
