We had all of our floors redone in the house except for two bathrooms and the laundry room. Those have stayed the tile-like linoleum. All the carpet was replaced and tile put down in the master bath (FINALLY!). We also decided to rip out the old vanity and put a new one in with two sinks. We added laminate wood flooring in the high traffic areas downstairs. We also closed in the loft upstairs to make it a real 4th bedroom. Everything turned out just great! The new floor is softer and much cushier (if that's a word). Here are some before and afters:
BEFORE
downstairs looking at front door from kitchen
downstairs living room
kitchen and dining room
old master bath vanity with one sink
master bath carpet (all the way up to the tub)
in the loft looking at the top of the stairs
AFTER

dining room and living room

looking at garage door from dining room
new master bath vanity and tile floor (still need mirrors)
looking at bath from my closet
new loft door (it's done and painted but didn't get a recent pic)
