Thirty eight weeks pregnant already. It went by so fast! It seems like just last week I took the pregnancy test and found out our lives were going to change forever. This week the baby is supposed to be about six and a half pounds and nineteen inches long. Babycenter.com compares the baby to about the size of a Leek this week.
I had a good Doctor appointment on Wednesday. My doctor said I'm 2 inches dilated and my cervix is about 75% effaced. Not too much longer now. I am feeling intense pelvic pressure when I stand from sitting and the doctor said he is head-down and sitting really low.
I have another appointment on Wednesday morning. I have done quite a bit of walking the last few days to try to move things along. Hopefully it has made some sort of difference and I'm maybe a little more dilated. I will let everyone know how that appointment goes.
So, the past week, Shaun and I have deep cleaned the house and created a budget for ourselves with all the new costs of having a baby incorporated. You just don't think about how much the baby will affect your life until you look at the numbers. Haha! I'm just kidding. I'm sure it gets worse the older they get!
Shaun did get a chance to use the dutch oven that Marty and Liz gave us and made me Dutch Oven Chicken & Potatoes. It didn't turn out exactly as he planned, but he's got plenty of time to perfect it...and it was pretty easy. We just used the firepit in the backyard to help get the coals hot for the oven. It was a good dinner that night.
