This week the baby is over 4 lbs and the size of a pineapple. He's now at least 17 in. long. I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the fact that in a month and a half, Shaun and I will be parents. Time seems to be ticking away so fast! We are both getting excited and the anticipation is palatable. =) He will be here to meet us before we know it.
This past Tuesday we started the four week Prenatal class at the hospital. They talked about the different stages of labor, the symptoms all of us first-time moms have been feeling, showed us some breathing exercises that we can do with our coaches, and explained to us what quickening, dilating, cervix effacement and episiotomies were. It was eye opening to say the least. Shaun told me in the class that after we went over the birthing part he got a nervous feeling. It's a lot for him to take in and I just hope he can hang in there with me when I go into labor!Shaun will be in Manassas, Virginia for work this week from Monday to Friday so I have to hold down the fort by myself. Everyone pray that I don't go into spontaneous labor while he's on the other side of the country!
