Brentley is 11 Months Old

August has been a very busy month for us.  On Aug. 6th I noticed B's upper right tooth coming in. On the 15th, his upper left tooth started coming in too. He woke up during the night in pain for just a few days while each of those teeth were breaking the skin.

On Aug. 13th after spending a couple weeks trying all different kinds of sippy cups, Brentley finally figured out the same Munchkin sippy cup that Jacob used to use. I immediately started giving him water in it.  I will try giving him whole milk around the end of August so that he will have an easier time weaning from breast feeding.  He is still eating the same as he did last month and BONUS, has gotten over that urge to spit food back in your face if he doesn't want to eat it. That's over, thankfully.

Brotherly love

Since Brentley sits up so well, I've started taking him out of the car seat when I go to the store with him. I have a fabric cover with a harness so it keeps him secure. He does really well just looking around at everything and if he gets tired, sometimes he will just rest his head on the handle. It's cute.

Little goober loves to stay right at the bottom of the stairs when I'm up doing laundry. He waits for me to come back down.

A week or so ago, Brentley learned how to wave bye-bye. I ask him to do it now when I put him to bed. He waves bye to Jacob.  I've also started pointing out his body parts to him. He can't tell me what is what yet, so still in progress.  He loves to clap his hands though. Every song that says to do it, he does it. Jacob, while riding in the car, will ask him to do it too.

This toy is fun for the both of them. Jacob pops them all up, and Brentley will shut them. Brentley will play by himself for hours if you let him.  He goes into the front room where the toy boxes are and will just sit and play with all the little buttons on all the toys.  He entertains himself very well.

Brentley is still growing well and now fits snugly into all those 18-24 month sleep and plays I got him at the beginning of summer. He's wearing one in this next picture.  They used to hang on him, but now he is long enough to fill them out.

Loves the walker! I have started putting him in it to get him used to walking and he will chase Jacob and I from the front door to the garage door and back. He's pretty quick in it. Here in this picture he decided he wanted to walk and vacuum at the same time. He's a multi-tasker.

Getting stronger everyday and is such a fast crawler! He really gets around Fast! His favorite spots are the pantry and the bathroom so we have to keep those doors closed all the time. If he sees them open, he will go turbo speed to get over to them and get into everything. If there's any obstacles in his way, he does a great job of maneuvering over them.

Our other little drummer boy
Loves the sound of music, of drums, and of clapping or noises like that. His favorite apps are drum ones. =)

Brentley is not the most cuddly but he will rest his head on your hand if you give it to him. Usually if you try to hold him close, he pushes you away. But recently, I think he's starting to get more affectionate.  I know when I'm laying him down at night he doesn't want to snuggle, just like Jacob, he dives for his bed and wants to go to sleep. But, I AM his Mommy, so I know of ways to get him to snuggle. Usually involves making kissing noises around his neck or cheeks.
