Jacob Update

I have to give this kid some credit. He is the best big brother I could have ever imagined he would be. He loves Brentley dearly.  Also, he is so well behaved.  He listens, and if not, goes to time out and comes out of it in a better mood.  He is a joy and I love him so much.  My favorite is watching Shaun and him wrestle. His laughter warms my heart.  He has started talking a lot more. He will repeat us all day long (so we really have to watch our language) and it's so cute...right now he will repeat after us, but only one syllable, a Jacob-ism. So like tonight, "mountains" become "mounts" and since he has a cold right now, when he has boogers he says "gu ga ga" for us to get a kleenex to wipe his nose. 

A few weeks ago, Shaun had been traveling a lot, and one night I went to lay Jacob down and we heard a noise. It was probably just a neighbor shutting their car door or something, but Charlee barked a little.  Jacob got excited for a second and thought it was Daddy coming home. (so so sad) So I had to explain to him that Daddy was still gone and that Charlee just heard a noise but that it was nothing to be afraid of. Well, Jacob would not fall asleep after that.  He was up crying for a little bit on and off, so to make him feel more secure, I put Charlee's bed in his room and from that night on, Charlee has slept in his room with him. It's funny because now when it's bedtime, Charlee knows and he goes right up to his bed and lays down. They are two peas in a pod. =)  I will hear him in his monitor sometimes saying "Charlee, go lay down!" lol

Jacob weighs 28 lbs and is very healthy. We are working with getting him to eat healthier.  I am eating a lot healthier than I was and am getting better groceries so that helps, but he is learning to try all the foods we give him and that's where improvement could be.  For the past 6 months or so he's been waking up at 7-8am taking a two hour nap and going to bed between 7-8pm.  He doesn't always fall right asleep, but he plays well in his crib by himself.

His favorite foods right now are cereal, apples, bananas, applesauce, blueberries, cheese sticks, pancakes, rice, grilled cheese, tortilla chips, and toast with cinnamon sugar or jelly.
