Jacob and Charlee, his best friend
Two weeks ago, we took Jacob to see his doctor because he had a slight dry skin irritation on his tummy. They said we just have to make sure to put lotion on his body a few times a day.
He now weighs 26 lbs. and is 33 inches tall.
On the 15th, Jacob had an learning skills evaluation and he is doing great, only lacking in expressive language. So we are working on getting him to talk and use words to tell us what he wants. One key technique I learned is to ask him to make a choice, like "Do you want to play with your truck or your bear." So that he has to tell you the word. It actually does work.
Says lots of sounds:
dog
cat
monkey
wolf
elephant
tiger
lion
snake
frog
duck
cow
wolf - worked hard on this one with Shaun this past week. Soo cute!
Will also make Train, Car & Truck sounds like any boy. Adorable.
Knows & Will Point to the Body Parts:
hair
nose
mouth
tongue
eyes
ears
hands
arms
belly button
legs
knees
feet
toes
butt
neck
Can say the words:
Milk
Juice
Stuck
Uh Oh
Dada - even says it to me
balloon
outside
Yes
Truck
Car
Bubble
Dog
Whenever he eats something he likes, he says Mmmm
When he has to go pee-pee, he will point to the front of his pants.
Jacob is learning how to share and take turns when friends are playing with him. I understand that this is a hard thing to learn, so we are taking it slow, but I hope he gets it soon before he has to share with his baby brother.
We are working on his listening skills, and when he does something that I know that he knows, he is not supposed to do we do the "supernanny timeout" technique and it has been working.
Jacob has been very affectionate to both Shaun and I lately. Also, last weekend, he went up to two different women and tried to kiss them. One was his gym teacher, he tried to kiss her goodbye, and the other was Shaun's boss' daughter. He was just meeting her and decided to lean in for one. It was pretty funny. He is very good about giving hugs and kisses though and gets them a little mixed up sometimes. =)

We were at the mall the other day and he was watching the kids go around on the carousel and whined to let me know he wanted to ride it. As soon as we got on the horse and it started to move up and down, his joy turned to terror. We were able to switch to the sleigh seat that didn't move, and he held his toy horse the whole time.
Playing in the sprinklers for the first time & totally loving it!
