Jacob had his 4 month appointment last Friday. He weighs 14.8 lbs right now and is 26 inches long. He's doing great and now he can start trying out cereals and certain foods. I am going to start him on rice cereal added to breastmilk in a bottle and baby foods like sweet potatoes, peas, apples and bananas.
On Saturday, we tried our first baby food out. Jacob loves sweet potatoes! He has figured out how to open his mouth and push the food back with his tongue to swallow it. In the next two months we will help him master eating. I'm feeding him 1 oz. each time and only feeding him once every other day. He had been curiously watching me eat for the past month so I think he's happy to get a taste of real food on his own.We put together one of our baby entertainers the other day and he did great in it. He loves all the colors and sounds. He can barely reach by standing on his tip toes, so he's still got some growing to do before he fits into it perfectly, but for now, it's a whole new experience for him and he enjoys it.
Last week when we returned home from Las Vegas for President's Day weekend, Jacob let us know that he had found his voice. He was screaming this high pitch scream and yelling as loud as he could. I have a little video showcasing his new talent!
