7 Weeks Old

This past week has flown by. We are keeping busy and Jacob is a very active baby. He likes to wake up around 9 am and stay up for 3-4 hours just being awake and what we call "working out". We will hold him under the arms and he will straighten out his legs and stand for a few seconds. His neck muscles are really strong now too and he is getting really good at holding up his head. I started him with the Bumbo chair this week and he is doing great. He is such a strong little guy! Baby acne has shown up too. His face will flare up if he gets too hot and the little bumps are all over his head and shoulders. We aren't really sure why it is there, but it doesn't seem to affect him at all.
Shaun weighed himself with and without Jacob and our scale says he weighs 11 pounds now! That's an incredible amount he has grown over the past 7 weeks and I'm excited that my breast milk is keeping him healthy and plumping him up.
Jacob's favorite time is shower time. He loves to just lay on our bathroom floor on a blanket and just chill while we shower. He lays there quietly and just looks around. Jacob has been showering with me and it seems like it's a lot easier to keep him warm in this cold house than if we were to try to bathe him in a baby bath. I will probably start bathing him by himself once he is big enough and we won't have such a hard time keeping him warm. Well, until next week - here are some pictures of the little guy!
